Shipping Personal Things

Featured Replies

I am returning to Bangkok in a few weeks. I am wanting to ship a few boxes with my personal things, mainly just books. The problem is that I don't have an apartment yet. Is it possible to just ship them to a post office in Bangkok in my name, then pick up the boxes once I get there?

I have seen this done in old Bogart movies, which gave me the idea. But, I don't know if it is actually possible or not.

If it is, does anyone happen to know the address to where I would send them?

Thanks

When you say "ship" I assume you mean mailing via the post office? You'll probably be staying in a hotel when you arrive. Why not just mail the packages to the hotel address?

Yes, I mean mailing. In this case, from China, which is where I am now. I won't make hotel or guesthouse arrangements until I arrive in Bangkok, so I don't have any address to mail them to.

Why not make an Internet booking at one of the better hotels for just one night. And, tell the hotel that you will be shipping some items in advance. The post office might hold it up for customs and in that case the post office will notiofy the hotel.
