In France, banks issue to their customers a small formal document which is called "releve d'identite bancaire".

This document is requested by any entity (employer, administrations...) needing to transfer money to your account.

It provides all the necessary informations for this purpose (bank name, branch, account number, account name, swift code...), but no information regarding the transactions, balance and so on.

I would need such a document from my bank in Thailand, but I don't know exactly how to ask for it, in English and even less in Thai.

Members assistance is welcome.

Bangkok Bank has a small business card sized document that lists the name and address of the branch bank, the swift code and  routing number (for transfers from the U.S.) and a place for you to write your account number and name on the account.  Normally this card is given to you when you open an account and you can request one from any customer service rep, but be sure to inquire at the "home" office of your bank.

I would imagine that other banks have something similar.  I don't know if it has an "official" name.  When I've needed another such card, I just ask for the bank address and routing number I.D. card and the customer service reps know what I'm talking about.

You can probably provide a copy of passbook front page for account/name/ownership/bank proof and copy from there website for SWIFT transfers.  Banks can often provide A4 paper with whatever information required and signed by manager for a fee.

In Kasikorn they had a small piece of paper with the bank swift code on. Your bank book will show the name and account number. You could just call the banks customer service and get the info. So usually 3 bits of info, name, account number, swift code

I just looked at my bank book.

The first page shows clearly my name and account number, but the bank name is written in very small characters at the bottom of the page, and the branch is written in Thai!

Maybe I could ask the bank to type a letter that I would prepare with all the requested informations.

The branch is the first 3 digits of your account number.  Name of branch is not important here.

This information is not for local use, but to be sent abroad.

You know how are the Western administrations...they don't accept half complete and unclear information.

I have to send them a nice document showing all the necessary information without the need for a translation, especially from Thai language...
