Transferring extension of stay stamps

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a quick question.

I'm about to get a new passport as my old one is full. By the time the new one arrives I should have a couple of weeks to get the extension of stay stamp transferred before it expires, along with my work permit. My question is, is there a 'time remaining until expiry' cut off point or anything? Like, you must have at least 15 days left before the expiry date?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There is no time limit to get the stamp transfer done.

What is expiring that you asked about?

To apply for an extension of stay at immigration there is no minimum amount of time to apply for it.

Thanks for the quick reply, very helpful. My extension of stay stamp expires August 1st, my new passport should arrive mid July. Just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any hiccups.

Thanks again

If you’re going to renew your extension there is no need to transfer the stamps until the day you a apply for the next extension.
