Charging outlets at Thai airports

Featured Replies

Are outlets available, for free or for a price, for charging at Thai airports? Or is it a case of "bring your own charging pack" if you need extra electricity?

The 3 I am most interested in are: Don Mueng, Udon Thani, and Utapao (Pattaya)

There are plenty of free charging stations in BKK and CNX airports, sorry not sure about the ones you requested. You will find the working outlets overrun by a horde of Chinese.

Also plenty of uncovered wall plugs, most do not work or so loose you have to hold the cable inside the jack, at an upward angle to get any juice, As usual installed equipment in Thailand not maintained. You will have better luck with outlets in the business class lounges.

Yep. There's plenty at DM airport particularly in the departure lounges.

Don't bring power packs on planes. You don't want to be the guy that kills everyone.

I always travel with a power pack on international and domestic flights; under the current legislation power packs " CAN NOT " be in your checked in aircraft hold luggage but are permitted in carry on / hand luggage . . . . There is also a maximum power pack battery size as mine had been checked many times on flights but I can't remember what it is.

Have you considered the security aspect of using public charging points?

Couple of articles here and there are more if you search the web

You're connecting your phone / tablet via its USB connection to what?  Remember that you can charge it by connecting to a PC which could then copy your data / infect the device so if you don't know what's actually behind the charger .........:crying:

But bring your USB charging cable with you, they provide socket for USB, and if you have a charger, there are power point too, there are charging points available at Don Muang airport lounge between terminal 1 and terminal two.

It is just opposite the Information counter. But don't forget to collect the phone after charging.
