webfact
Lottery office ordered to pay 945 million baht for the scrapping of online lottery betting By Thai PBS The Central Administrative Court on Thursday ordered Government Lottery Office to pay Loxley GTEC Technology Company 945 million baht in compensation plus 7.5 percent interest thereon for the GLO’s revocation of the contract for the company to operate online lottery betting. Loxley GTEC Technology filed a lawsuit against the GLO demanding about five billion baht in compensation for the latter’s breach of contract after the company was awarded a contract to supply online lottery vending machines to the GLO. Cadbury
The PM said he was going to fix the lottery system. He sure does seem to have done a good job of that to the tune of almost 1 billion baht of taxpayers money. Chalk up another FAIL.
CLW
Thailand. Surely number one hub for scrapped government projects wasting billions of taxpayers money. For this I am happy not to pay any direct taxes to this government.
kickstart
Is it the taxpayer who is fitting the bill, I thought the lottery was self-funding, and who thought of this scheme anyway,Tucksin tried to get betting online, and that failed so they tried it again, and history repeated its self, Thai's will never accept online betting, they would rather buy they lottery tickets from the blind seller at they local market, more good luck ( and gives the seller some income). And there would be very wary of machines selling lottery tickets afraid of something going wrong and not getting they ticket, or losing face because they can not use the machine.
