No problem. When Heinz closed their plant in Ontario few years ago, group of employees bought it and now produce Frenchs brand ketchup from Canadian grown tomatoes. So Donny choke on this country's ketchup now they will lose significant expodts to Canada.

  • According to Stephf(?) in The Nation, this might solve the problem:

  • Every drop counts. Ketchup is rarely on sale but today I saw the Canadian brand on sale for 25% less. When shopping, I saw shoppers reading labels, some friendly chat supported what I suspected. They

  • You can be sure the Heinz’s bottling plant is in the reddest of red districts. These relaliatory tariffs by Canada, EU and China are all designed to target GOP strongholds on a seat by seat basis.

I'm trying to figure this out: Mnuchin says the Trump Admin wants "free trade."

And so the way the TU is going about pursuing "free trade" is significantly hiking tariffs on all kinds of imported goods from other countries, with those other countries then retaliating by hiking their tariffs on the various U.S. goods that they import. And thus you have the makings of an international trade war with higher tariffs and retaliatory tariffs flying in all different directions.

And all of this is going to help promote the cause of international "free trade" how???

They became a majority stockholder during a merger. They never bought the whole company outright.

Heinz, a brand in virtually every American kitchen, is selling itself for $23 billion to another household name— Warren Buffett —and a Brazilian private-equity firm that is anything but.

Interesting 7-minute interview of a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, founding member of WTO and former chairman of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization by Fox Business. Bacchus says that Trump will not win on the merit of national security as an exception. At one point Bacchus cites interviewer using "alternative" facts in her interview.

There are already "denials" by the administration that Trump mulls quitting WTO.
