BANGKOK, 2nd July 2018, (NNT) - The Prime Minister has expressed his admiration of rescuers, volunteers and officials working around the clock to bring home the 12 boys and their football coach stranded deep inside Tham Luang Cave in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said today the operation has made much progress, while adding the mission shows the solidarity of the Thai citizens who care for one another. He thanked all for giving their moral support to the rescuers, and nearby agriculturalists for allowing officials to use their farmland for the transfer of water drained from the cave.

He also thanked all agencies for lending a hand, such as the Provincial Electricity Authority, the Royal Irrigation Department, all branches of the Thai military, and local and foreign volunteers. General Prayut believes that with all the help, the operation will be successful. The Prime Minister also offered words of comfort to the families of the missing 13, asking them to remain strong.

Meantime, Prime Minister General Prayut asked members of the media to present the news accurately in order to avoid further confusion.

The Prime Minister had earlier instructed officials to create a Line account for the distribution of official news under the name Khao Jing Prathet Thai. Residents are urged to follow the Line account to see the latest updates on the rescue operation to locate the stranded boys' football team.

Commendable the effort to find the 13 footballers for all concerned, meanwhile 60 people are dying on the roads on average each day and it seems to be forgotten!

Bad idea. We don’t need more confusing news from indiscipline social media.

Having seen his grand entrance complete with full entourage to the cave system on Thai TV it was indeed a sickening spectacle, instead of a quiet visit to the caves and comfort anxious parents he turned his visit into a full blown circus with himself as "Master of Ceremonies" pathetic!
