Crackdown On Crackers For Chinese New Year

Featured Replies

Phuket province issue orders in control of firework sales for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

PHUKET: -- The Phuket Provincial authorities announced on 29th January that unlicensed fireworks are forbidden to be sold for the Chinese New Year, which will be on 18 February 2007 when most people will celebrate with fireworks to pay respects to their ancestors.

The ban is to prevent accidents that might occur from fireworks and also to prevent some groups that take this opportunity to smuggle in fireworks.

The Phuket province announced the ban on the use of severe fireworks that may cause hazards to the pubic such as those called rocket, egg or anything similar to those mentioned and also asks for cooperation from parents to keep a close watch on children when they play fireworks.

Violators will be charged and those who are disturbed by such acts can report to a nearby police station.

I believe there's a year-round crackdown on crackers.

:o:D:D Same same every year.

I imagine it will be as effective as the Loy Krathong firecracker crackdowns. :o

To quote Trink, "Any comment would be superfluous, TIT". :o

With apologies to Bernard:

If the parents keep a close eye on their children whilst playing with firecrackers, they could very well lose the eye concerned.
