Kinnock
I'm pretty sure most passengers would prefer the money to be used to improve the signaling system?
4evermaat
Not a bad deal actually. And at least they acknowledged that the delays are real and are working to fix them. Sent from my ASUS_X00ID using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
shady86
How does the passenger holding Rabbit card gets 3 trips? They will get 3 free trips or cash return? And those using 30 days pass on extension line, they also got 15B deducted on top of normal trip. Will they get back the extra deduction?

They aren't giving any compensation for normal rabbit cards or single use cards, the title is misleading. Only in the case of trip rabbit cards are they giving any 'compensation' and actually they're giving freebies in that instance, not monetary reimbursement. And how many people won't bother queuing up for the refund/additional trips and exit through the ticket gate and not the swing gate...

Jonmarleesco
Describing such credits as reimbursement is a bit of a stretch. And for only 30 minutes and up is really taking the pee pee.

Photo: @Amf_patcharapol / Twitter BANGKOK — BTS Skytrain officials said Thursday they will refund commuters for delays they faced while queuing for the train last week. The massive BTS delays and outages from June 25 to June 27 – a month that saw almost 20 of them – left many stranded in crowded queues for hours. If you were one of them, here’s how to get a refund starting Saturday and continuing until July 31. cnx355
It would have been simple to let all the passenger use the BTS free during the following week on Monday-Tuesday and Wednesday, the same 3 weekdays the problems occurred.

They are quite optimistic people wouldn't want to take the trouble queuing for the free trips. Not sure how they system works but if all card holders trips are recorded in system, they could just program the system to reimburse the trips instead of getting it done at counters. lamyai3
I just did a regular top up at the counter on the regular rabbit card (cash value, not trips). While I was there I asked the girl about compensation, and right away she printed me off a second receipt, six free trips, value of 156 baht. Had to give name and phone number, but it took all of 20 seconds. Not yet sure if these trips are on my card or I have to take the receipt to the gate. Says trips need to be used before August 22nd.
