Visa extension at airport

Hi there

I am new to this forum so what I am about to ask has probably been done to death. If my request for info can be redirect to the right place, fine.

 

I will be arriving with no visa and expecting the 30 day tourist visa on arrival, I have heard that you can request 60 days at immigration. Is this an urban myth or not?

 

I have Thai wife and have lived and worked in Thailand on and off over the past 45 years, but on recent trips it has just been for 2 or 3 wweek's holiday.

You can get a 30 day extension for tourism OR a 60 day extension to visit your wife. Either cost 1,900 baht and you need to apply at the immigration office that covers the area of address you’re living at.

It is not a Tourist Visa on arrival, it's a 30 day Visa exempt entry.

 

Yes, if your legally married to a Thai you can apply for a 60 day extension at your local Immigration office. 1,900 baht.
