Sukhawadee House cited again for encroachment

PATTAYA:--Even as contractors demolish 13 percent of tourist mansion Sukhawadee House for encroaching on public property, Pattaya officials have discovered the operator of the Sukhumvit Road mansion has built another staircase on land it doesn’t own.

Deputy Mayor Vichien Pongpanit said July 5 that Baan Sukhawadee, owned by the head of poultry giant Saha Farms, had built steps connecting to a public footpath and placed artificial grass on public land.

Land Office authorities were called to the property once again to conduct measurements and confirmed that the coastline along Soi Banglamung 8 is all public property. So orders were given to demolish all facilities affected.

There is a large building near the area as well that is suspected to be encroaching on public property and it is being investigated.

at least it looks very nice. So what's the damage, if the public can use this walk way?

The damage is that you legitimize stealing land, if you do that it will get worse and worse. The way it looks they can even claim it their land and refuse people on it.

If you don't go after all encroachment it will only encourage others to do the same.

Just like anything else, Problem is they keep moving further out, and takingore, first steps then chairs then signs etc etc, or everyone else starts doing the same thing and someone decides to do just a little bit more which is copied etc
