gbt71fa
Okay, we've done all the legal paperwork for marriage. We are now at the point where we have the thai papers that say we are legally married, with stamps. Now, do I need to get that translated back into English and then take that back to the U.S. embassy? Is that when it becomes "recognized" by U.S. governement? lopburi3
You are married - it is a done deal. It might be a good idea to make several translation/copy's and have registered by MFA in case you need later for legal reasons (such as pension payments change) but there is no Embassy registration required. If you are going to be living here by all means do register that fact with Embassy/Department of State so you will receive current updates.
