Question about re-entry visa at Don Muang

Featured Replies

I'm flying to Ubon Ratchathani, then driving to Laos for a couple of days. Can I get a re-entry permit at Don Muang with my domestic ticket?

You can only get a re-entry permit on departure from the country at Don Muang and other airports.

What border crossing will you be using to enter Laos?

Nong Khai, I think. My friends are driving, so I'm not 100% sure. Is the a crossing where I can get a re-entry visa?

Nong Khai has a re-entry permit desk. Mukdahan will also do re-entry permits.`

If you are really crossing at Nong Khai, you can get a re-entry permit before leaving Thailand. However, that is a long way from Ubon. The nearest crossing (and the one your friends are likely to use if driving) is at Chong Mek which I am pretty sure does not have a re-entry permit desk. On the way to Nong Khai, you also pass Mukdahan. As I recall, there was a post recently suggesting re-entry permits there are possible, but I am unsure.

I don't think they do them either.

But if Monday to Friday he could stop at the immigration office in Sirindhorn the on the way to there to get one. I am sure they would issue one if he explained he is departing at  Chong Mek.

Just get it at the office in Don Meuang airport.

Quick and easy!

How?

The office is after departure immigration. The OP is flying on a domestic flight.

Lol. A prime example of not reading the OP post or UJ reply. The thread is not that long to miss it is it ??
