Non Immigrant 'ed' To Work Permit

Featured Replies

I have been in thaland for 10 months on a catagory ED visa now i am coming to the last 3 months .Is it possible to obtain a work permit as an english teacher on this visa . I have a 3 year College degree in the Uk but not a university degree is this possible ? i have had many different answers so from a profesional would be good.

Thanks

Hi,

It is possible. However, it seems to vary between the provinces/offices. I hold a work permit on a NON ED visa and no degree. also, it depends on your school. Private, bilingual/international schools can by law employ a certain amount of non-degree teachers (I think 10%) in their workforce. Govt schools are "easier", as long as the school wants to employ you, the lack of degree shouldn't be a problem.

Again, it seems to vary a lot depending on where you are

Good luck!
