webfact
Death of boy, 4, ‘not linked to drug haul’ By Surachai Piraksa The Nation A four-year-old Thai boy, who along with his 60-year-old grandmother had found a bag containing nearly 40,000 methamphetamine pills by the roadside in Buri Ram province early last month, was run over by a pickup truck on Sunday morning while crossing the road, police said. Following the fatal accident, the truck driver identified only as Saman, 58, waited to testify to police. He said he was driving to Roi Et province when the boy suddenly crossed the road in front of his vehicle before he could slam the brakes. The boy was pronounced dead in hospital. Police were convinced the fatal road accident was not connected with the drug discovery, as the area was the boy’s usual route back home. On June 17 evening, the boy and his grandmother spotted a pink bag by the main road in Ban Song Phi Nong village, Tambon Sadao, Song Phi Nong district while they were herding their water buffaloes back home. The boy dragged the bag home and when he opened it, he found it stuffed with illicit drugs, which they then handed over to police. How can they even think that something like that need to be said? Edited July 22, 2018 by Get Real
sirocco
Sad, sad news. Another little child leaving in dramatic circumstances. Although I regularly see small children without supervision, especially in escalators, you must not incriminate either the driver or the grandmother. At this age, the reactions are so unpredictable that even by holding hands you can escape. Let him sleep quietly.
ubonjoe
Two off topic posts meant to deflect the topic have been removed. If anybody is curious about them finding the pills in the first place the original story is here. Edited July 23, 2018 by ubonjoe

Rally123
But what has the damaged car got to do with the story? Quote A grandmother had quite a shock after taking home a pink bag she found by the roadside in Buri Ram. Thawee Singwong, 60, told police that she and her four-year-old grandson spotted the bag by a main road in Ban Song Phi Nong village, Tambon Sadao, Song Phi Nong district on Sunday evening. The woman said she and her grandson were herding their water buffaloes back home when the boy spotted the bag and told her he wanted it. She said he dragged it home and when they opened it they found it was stuffed with 40,000 methamphetamine pills. The woman then called police, who took her back to the spot where she had found the bag, which officers seized as evidence. It is the pickup that hit and killed the boy in this article. Same boy that was in the other article.
Rally123
No I'm still lost. In the above article there is no mention of anyone being killed or run over. In the other article it does refer to a death but the two links do not match up. Is Thai Visa reporting 'fake news'? It seems like 2 separate stories in that in one the drugs are found and handed to the police, nothing else. No accident, no death. Whereas the second story is the same initially but the boy gets killed in a traffic accident. There is no mention of an accident in http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/breakingnews/30347994 In one link the boy found the bag of drugs in the evening. In the other link the boys was involved in a road accident, and killed, in the morning. <removed> Edited July 23, 2018 by ubonjoe inflammatory comment removed

The other one dated 17 June is for when the boy and his grandmother found the drugs.
