So, this Saturday I am scheduled to meet up with a friend who I haven't seen for several years. We had planned to have a couple of beers in a pub down Sukhumvit before moving on.

But will all pubs/bars be closed this Saturday? Is there a complete alcohol ban?

Will some places still serve a beer? For example, hotels, or undercover etc?

 

Any ideas?

Banned on 27th & 28th. Years ago even on banned days you could get served a beer in a tankard at a few pubs, notably the Kiwi always seemed a good bet.

For the last 3-4 years they have become far more strict and i believe you would have great difficulty finding a beer on either of those days in a sukhumvit pub.

I imagine high end hotels will still serve with discretion, and there will always be one or two places willing to ignore the ban if you could be bothered to find them.

Best bet is to stock up at home if you don't fancy the hotel avenue.
