Early application for visa extension (marriage)

Featured Replies

Anyone know what is the earliest you can submit your application for visa extension based on marriage. Mine will become due while on holidays (in Thailand) and will be past end date before getting home.

It is 30 days or 45 days at some offices.

Don't forget the 30 day report back date for the under consideration period.

Thanks.

Why are you bothering with an extension of stay if you don’t stay in Thailand? You’d be better off with a Multiple Entry Non Immigrant ‘O’ Visa.

The 30 day under consideration period could end on or after your current permit to stay ends (after you’ve gone home). You won’t get the extension if you’re not in the country at that time.

I think he lives here and is going to be on holidays within Thailand.

Wrong interpretation, I live in Thailand and have done for nearly 17 years, I will be holidaying within Thailand at the time extension becomes due.
