Wp3 for issuance of non-B in home country

Recommended Posts

Last week I fly back to home country to get Non-B on another company's paperwork. Islamabad embassy put an objection before application submission. They are asking for officially confirmed WP3. I am curious to know that how much time does it take for a company to get this document who never employed a foreigner before. Is it too cumbersome? Should I wait for WP3 or get a tourist visa?

PS, last time i applied for Non-B (business purpose) and embassy didn't ask for WP3.

The WP3 should be for Non B visa (employment) rather than Non B (business purposes). Further, you might well only get a single entry visa.

It is difficult to advise you on what to do without knowing more about the Islamabad embassy's current policies, your employment status in Pakistan, and the nature of the business you carry out in Thailand. Some embassies will now only give Non B (business purposes) if you are a director of your home country company.

Certain business activities are possible on tourist visas, but they are limited. Further, if you make repeated trips on tourist visas, Thai immigration might start interrogating you strongly on what you are  doing.

Before proceeding with trying to get an WP3, I suggest you are clear that this is really the solution.

If you will be working here for a Thai company a WP3 is required. It should not take more than few days for the WP3 to be done at the labor ministry after your new employer applies for it.

WP3 application form is here. https://www.doe.go.th/prd/assets/upload/files/alien_en/d40063ab24bd6033dab0e0676ec7203b.pdf

If you enter on a tourist visa you would have to apply change of visa status to get a non immigrant visa (category B) at immigration.

Requirements are here. https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_72

Yes, I guess so. Because the last invitation which I used for Non-B was for business expansion and investment purpose (but that company doesn't qualify to get me WP1 - that's why I rush back to get new one). The one my friend wrote this time states that I will work with her company. Maybe that's the reason that embassy is asking for Wp3. As far as my employment status is concerned, I am owner / director of my company in Pakistan.

I have only 1 tourist visa this year in my passport but I want to avoid interrogation based on previous 4-5 entries in last years. Let's say it's for employment in Thailand, does it weaken my case if I'm self employed and make well in Pakistan but still look for job / employment in Thailand?

I want to enter on Non-Immigrant visa (Category B) it means that WP3 is must. I assume that it would be more smooth to do WP1 for a yearly WP in presence of WP3. Is it like that? Or they follow the same procedure as their treatment to change tourist visa to Non-B (In Thailand)?

A WP3 can only be applied for if you are not in the country.

A WP1 can be applied for with a tourist visa entry but the work permit will not be issued until a non-b is acquired. Many people get a work permit application approval letter after the WP1 is submitted and then go out for a non-b visa.

The work permit approval letter is also required if applying for a visa at immigration.

Yes, currently I'm not in Thailand, that's why embassy would have ask for WP3. Is it complex after we submit WP3 with visa application? Staff at embassy said that you're good to go after WP3 confirmation.

You should not have a problem applying for a non-b visa if you have a WP3 and the other supporting documents required. Then after entering the country the 1 year work permit would be issued.
