The income I want to report for my eventual extension of permission to stay is Social Security income.  Will the standard letter with "Information About Current Social Security Benefits" I can print from my Social Security account be sufficient?  Or will they require more (notarized or something....)?

You do a affidavit at the embassy and swear that what is on it is true and correct. No proof of your income is needed.

    Keep that back up documentation with you when you go to Immigration as they can ask for it, but generally don't.
