Where to buy Apple Cider Vinegar in Chiang Mai

Looking for a health food store or grocer that sells Apple Cider Vinegar with "Mother" in it, like Braggs.  I've visited a couple of local stores without luck.  A suggestion would be appreciated or I'll just order from iHerb I guess.

The Braggs brand?

Yes, at the Kad Farang store for one.....

This might be another choice for you....

I take one shot glass each of ACV, honey, & lemon juice (Big C has 50%) every morning in medium/hot water (filtered).....Like a tea.....50% is the highest I've found for lemon juice - most are about 15% concentration.....

Cool, Thanks!  I didn;t know that Heinz made it with The Mother.  Appreciate the help.

Another home  remedy of questionable merit...

In recent years, people have explored apple cider vinegar as a way to lose weight, improve heart health, and even treat dandruff.

Many of these claims aren’t supported by modern research.

But of course, up to you.

I think this was just a simple shopping question?

I am not sure that you were asked for your medical opinion....... but if we are going to digress then I am pretty certain that it sorted out my gout.

I would not buy the cheap Heinz, S&P stuff..... organic is the way to go.

Actually there are a number of unbiased scientific studies in the last few years that show that Apple Cider Vinegar (containing Mother of Vinegar) can have significant metabolic health benefits, especially in regard to metabolic issues such as the onset of type-2 diabetes.

One particular study demonstrated that only 2 tablespoons of ACV can significantly drop triglycerides levels within a half hour if taken after a meal, as well as control blood sugar and insulin spikes.  See the study:  https://www.hindawi.com/journals/jdr/2015/175204/

Also, check out Dr. Michael Gregor's videos on YouTube; he discusses many of the health myths (both pro and con) regarding Vinegar.  He is a recognized authority on nutrition and metabolic health, and is one of the most unbiased and transparent health professional you will ever find.

Clearly, Vinegar isn't a "magic bullet" as some health gurus might tout, but it definitely has positive effects on metabolic health if used properly, and with realistic expectations.

You may already know this, but for the benefit of all, in order for Vinegar to have any health benefits, it must contain "Mother of Vinegar", not merely be "organic".  I won't go into details here but google it (and try your best to avoid all the health-guru nonsense you run into along the way ? ).  Also, see my reply to another post above.

I looked at the link offered, and some of the citations in the first publication, and i saw no mention that the vinegar was anything but normal white vinegar, at 5% acetic acid.  And one paper considered that simple acetic acid was sufficient to induce mild anti-glycemic benefits.

"mother of vinegar" ?  seems irrelevant.

Reduced the gout?  Perhaps, and frankly i hope so, as i know some gents who suffer greatly from the ailment.  But gout does come and go, so it might be difficult to isolate the reasons why it diminishes day to day.

I did not mean to appear 'medical' in offering advice but many folks do go to extremes to relieve pain and suffering, or to increase sexual potency as old age creeps up.  Recent news about ingesting raw, ground up centipedes, which contain lungworm eggs, or the like, for 'big vigor', and those cancer sufferers who abandon western meds to embrace folk or alternative remedies and die sooner because of this do give us good reason to question 'age old wisdom'.

Totally agree with you.  Some people always take things way too far, more often than not, merely for financial gain (i.e.: health gurus that manipulate legitimate scientific research into fantastical claims), and of course, they will always find a eager audience for their nonsense.

I simply think that vinegar has efficacy in controlling unhealthy levels of triglycerides, and blood sugar / insulin spikes that occur when you don't eat wisely, and especially in persons with poor nutritional practices.  The way I view it, if something is proven to be beneficial in addressing metabolic syndrome even if it plays just a very small role, I'm all for it.

Obesity and Diabetes type-2 are at epidemic proportions in the general population today.  What's worse is that it is occurring at earlier and earlier ages.  Kids being diagnosed with type-2 diabetes was practically unheard of 20 years ago.  Now it is common place.  Vinegar is not a magic bullet that will change this; sound nutrition is real the "magic bullet".

Regarding "mother", you are correct that this particular research did not touch on that, but other research has shown that it is bioactive and has a higher antioxidant capacity than regular vinegar.  Again, no "magic bullet", just more active in addressing metabolic dysfunctions than regular vinegar.  Here's a random study to support this.  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25648676
