BANGKOK, 11 August 2018 (NNT) – The renovation of 11 big parks in Bangkok with walkways, seats and lighting will be completed by September.

Deputy Bangkok Governor Jakkapan Phiwngam said the BMA is in the process of renovating the 11 major parks including Princess Mother Garden on Lad Prao and that it all will be completed by September.

There are some 7,800 parks throughout Bangkok covering a total of 37 million square meters. Thirty-seven parks are considered big ones.

The current renovation of the 11 parks features the repair of walkways, cycling lanes, illuminations, and other facilities, as well as the conserving of the unique identity of each park.

The deputy governor said the repairs for damaged walkways and lightings at Princess Mother Park will facilitate the high volume of foot traffic as the park is located at a major intersection and next to a big shopping mall and a metro station.

He followed up on the renovation of Ramindra Park which used to be a landfill, now changed into a hill park which faced landslides during heavy rains. A wall has been erected to prevent landslides while walkways have been renovated for those who may exercise in the park.

Know what you mean. I do not want to see food stalls and would love to see the no plastic bags or bottles rule applied. And no food in polystyrene containers.

@allenberg

What is sad about about not having food stalls, plastic bags, plastic bottles and foam food containers all over a public park.
