Drama as robber threatens to blow up Bangkok Bank - but he's soon caught and it's fake

A lone robber went into a ranch of Bangkok Bank at Big C extra in the Anusawalee area of Bang Khen, Bangkok, last night and told a frighten employee that he had a bomb.

She stuffed a plastic bag with 55,760 baht in cash and the robber fled.

But a citizen's arrest led to the man's capture by Bang Khen police nearby.

The "bomb" - wrapped in black tape - was shown to be nothing more than a fake after EOD experts were called.

Taken into custody in a state of what appeared drunkenness was 40 year old Chayan Malithong, reported Daily News.

He walked into the bank near closing time on Sunday and handed a note to teller Usawadee Nahuaythong.

It said: "Put the money in the bag.......I have a bomb (be calm)". He then repeated the threat verbally and a scared Usawadee complied.

A customer realized what had transpired and the alarm was raised leading to a citizen's arrest.

Yeehaw! Gimme 10 khwais, pardner!

If the story is correct then he was captured by the citizen, not the plod. Those numpties just escorted the robber after he was captured.
