dyertribe
Cutting the tree down achieved nothing, the stump is still "partially blocking the footpath" ... better get a stump muncher in.

BoganInParasite
I find some charm in natural obstacles in Bangkok footpaths. There are near entire roads without and footpath, or a footpath impeded by man made obstacles (including in poor state due to lack of maintenance). These should be addressed first. For a natural obstacle like this tree the test should be whether it creates an unacceptable safety hazard or unsustainable damage to infrastructure (e.g cables, pipes, etc). It is often shocking to see the loss of green coverage where a tree or trees once stood, and something that can take a long time to accept and even longer to remedy. marko kok prong
Just surprised they managed to bring it down without destroying anything else in the vicinity, unlike a friend of mine who had a large coconut palm dropping coconuts on and near his garden pergola,he got a half assed crew in,they cut it and had rope to pull it away, result,it came down crushing his pergola to matchwood, they just shrugged,he was stunned when they still wanted paying,so he wrote their quote down, and deducted the cost of the pergola, needless to say when he gave them this they high tailed it never to be seen again.
