Hello,

I am currently trying to obtain a Thai Police Check/Certificate of Good Conduct from my time living in Thailand. I am currently in my home country of the UK.

I don't have a contact that can help me in Thailand and I won't be back there soon so I need to do it all by post.

I'm wondering if it's easy enough to do if you send the required documents and money or whether there tends to be problems if you try to do it alone without a middle man? I have contacted  'A plus service' but they charge 6500 won for the service and was wondering whether it is worth just paying to get it done effectively, quickly and first time? Has anyone used 'A Plus'?

Also they ask for '2 sets of fingerprint forms'. My local police will charge £78 for one form and £116 for two forms. This is a lot of money. Do I really need 2 forms?

The embassy here have been useless in helping me out so anyone who has gone through the process of getting a Thai Police Check successfully from the UK I will be extremely grateful for your help and advice.

Best wishes,

Ant

What kind of currency is 'won'?

If you mean 'Yuan' then it's a Chinese company.

The Thai Embassy London do give information for a Thai criminal record check.

No way around providing two sets of fingerprints.

If you don't want to do it yourself, I'd look for an 'agent' in Bangkok, remembering to complete a POA form.

It won't be cheap using an agent, fees, post etc, your already looking at £250 +.

I assumed he meant baht. Won is South Korea's currency.

So does the police clearance service center website. http://www.pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eng/

In particular this PDF. http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/filedownload/infomation-service-2.pdf

The agent mentioned in his post is recommended by the PCS center on the left side of their main page on the left side as "By Out Source". https://www.a-plusservice.com/

Their website states it is 7000 baht including postage which is about 170 pounds.

WON is Korean currency.  Maybe the best thing is to contact the Thai Embassy and discuss the situation with them because you are applying for something to allow you to work in their country. You do not mention what you are applying for except a Police Check.   If so, why would you require one from Thailand?  You only need one from your home country which would require only one set of prints.  The Thai Embassy will provide a complete list and set of documents required for your application.

he needs it for the uk. if he was joining the police in the UK for example and he told them he was living in thailand for 5 years then they would want to know he hadn't got in any kind of trouble here. can't just have years blank history when applying for many jobs back home. UJ's answered his question already

I just got a police clearance from Thailand to get my girl NZ residence. I had to get it as I lived in Thailand for 10 years before moving back. You can send your documents off to the place in Bangkok but it is unlikely you will get anything back. you need finger prints and a certified copy of your passport. I have a good lawyer in pattaya who got it for me. she wanted 5000thb so I sent her 6000thb to cover that and any extra expenses. she lodged it and the cops wanted a 4000thb fee so I sent that over via western union. even at 10 000thb it was still far cheaper than flying back to get it. if you want any more information you can PM me.

I have used A-Plus Service twice before for the Thai police clearance and they have delivered as promised. I recommend them and as UbonJoe says, they are recommended by the Thai Police as well.

You can do your finger print at the local police in your place then send this to the Royal Thai Police in Thailand please include the mail stamp for them to send it back to you the result. If you have someone here that can collect the result for you much better. I've done this for a friend as she needed it for her job application in the UK.

Thank you to everyone for your help.

I wrote 'won' by accident having recently being in Korea.

I am applying for a job here in the UK and need to obtain a police check from the Thai Police for my time in Thailand, just to clear things up.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I think A Plus is the only way forward really! any more advice would still be appreciated though ?
