PM says monitor weather reports, avoid waterfalls

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has expressed concern over possible flooding around the country, said Government Spokesman Lt-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Saturday.

Sansern quoted Prayut as expressing concern that many parts of the country could be hit by floods under the influence of Bebinca tropical storm, which is expected to unleash heavy rains on much of Thailand.

The PM advises people to closely monitor weather forecasts and warnings from the Meteorological Department.

The spokesman said Prayut is especially concerned about tourists visiting waterfalls and wants them to be aware of possible runs-off.

The prime minister had also instructed park officials to monitor and warn tourists of the dangers posed by mountain runoffs at waterfalls and of high waves at the seaside.

Fire can burn you.

Water can drown you.

Stranger danger.

Democracy will kill me.

Oh Please, stop it now.

Maybe they need to shut parts of Thailand down to save the lives of tourists?

Other than that we can always send the general down to the sea and get him to hold the waters off.

He forgot to mention that caution is needed when entering caves . . . .

More pontificating from Mr Almighty Wiseness.... Tell the dumb minions how to live and warn them of every danger. All hail the Almighty PM of Thailand.

He's also bulding an ark for the floods and he warned giraffes to mind their head as they enter.

But at least there is some warning this time, as opposed to denial of reality. Maybe better advice locally than from the army chief, as follows.

My partner in Hang Dong received notice today from the Governor of Chiang Mai, delivered by the sheriff advising that flooding is expected. With that heads-up, we were able to implement a plan to protect her Mothers house (hopefully) which is likely to get 'wet'.

Much better than 'surprise, surprise'.

He's all heart.  Does this mean he's climbing down from his earlier prediction that there would be no floods?

Nah, he just pretends that he never made that prediction. Standard political operating procedure in politics today ..... 'no accountability'.

I’m so so glad that this guy knows everything on everything. Maybe he can predict when the uprising to kick him and his cronies out will be or when he will need to insert the harsh reality of  Big P (Marshal) permanent law. Just made my coffee sour a bit.

Now l know this man is the man to lead this country. LOL

The first time I've heard the beach in LoS described as the seaside.

No need, all caves subject to flooding will at a minimum be adequately sign-posted if not closed to the public access  - - because we care.
