The best leaders do nothing and let the country get on with its business.  Too much government, like the interfering fragile egos running the country now, are what you do not want.   Had Yingluck done nothing, the country would be great shape.

I tried to look up the words in my "English/Thai dictionary for Politician"...

I can't blame them for voting PTP and Democrats.. there were not many other options. That is the problem... lack of good options.

Surely they jest? Integrity meaning:

....honesty, uprightness, probity, rectitude, honour, honourableness, upstanding, good character, principle(s), ethics, morals, righteousness, morality, right-mindedness, virtue, decency, fairness, scrupulousness, sincerity, truthfulness,

trustworthiness.

What ambitious hopes people have.

Hope is just about all they do have as they have little else !

No such thing as a politician with integrity. 2 words are mutually exclusive. I suppose ghandi and maybe  mandela had some altruism

The average joe on here will still attribute qualities to people and institutions in good old back home that have never existed.

Usa and brit politicians make thai politicians lool like absolute rank amateurs when it comes to lies, deceit, corruption etc.

Only have to look at the POTUS.

Except for those who made bank off the rice fiasco....

There will be even less at the next election.

That will be the time Prayut announced the election date. Lesson learned from Cambodia.

I like future forward.. seems like a good option.. not realistic that they will win.. but if enough vote for him he might get even more next time.

Sounds like there could be some major changes in the Thai political arena. Next all of the shifty candidates will be trying to convince voters that they are of the highest moral character. This could actually be rather comical to watch if it wasn't so potentially frightening if they succeed in pulling off the charade. Of course, there will be only one that has enough time to campaign long enough to really change minds, but he has really dug a deep hole to try to crawl out of  in this respect.

Did anyone mention policies? What the candidates are standing for? Or could it be integral not integrity that has been misquoted. Candidates find it integral to follow what has gone before them. It is integral that tea money still comes in. It is integral that more O/S tours be held to keep 1st and 2nd wives happy. I think u get the picture now about politics. There are some very good Thai politicians, but some stretch their boundaries.
