National Security Council (NSC) Secretary General Gen Wanlop Raksanoh this morning tried to allay fears that there could political unrests after the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) eases the ban on political activities.

Speaking before a meeting of the NCPO at the Government House, Gen Wanlop was responding questions from journalists as to what he expected the political situation would be like after the ban is relaxed.

He said details of the ban relaxation would be known after today’s NCPO meeting and agencies concerned would then be advised on what to do next.

Why does anyone care what Wanlop thinks or says?

Why aren't journalists asking the NCPO and PM/Chief Prayut directly?

It is solely his decision to relax the ban.

Life in Thailand during the political ban: you cannot criticise the junta and all their works.

Life in Thailand after the 'lifting' of the political ban: you cannot criticise the junta and all their works.

Life in Thailand after an elected government: you cannot forget a  military coup and all their works.
