BANGKOK, 31st August 2018 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and CAT Telecom Plc have agreed to cooperate in establishing the Bangkok Connect project, in which a mobile application will be developed to provide Bangkok residents with news and information.

Executives of the BMA and CAT Telecom have attended an agreement signing ceremony between the two agencies for the development of an application called “Bangkok Connect”. The app will serve as an integrated source of information, providing users with the latest news, weather and traffic updates and locations of top restaurants around the capital, for example. Members of the public can also submit any complaints with the BMA via the app.

Bangkok Governor, Pol Gen Asawin Kwanmuang pointed out that the use of technology and innovation will help speed up the BMA’s provision of various services to city dwellers. He estimated more than one million people in Bangkok will download the Bangkok Connect application following its launch, adding that the app will continue to be improved in the future for higher efficiency.

Meanwhile, Col Sanpachai Huvanandana, President of CAT Telecom, said Bangkok Connect will bring together contents from various agencies as well as all 50 district offices, allowing residents to find reliable news and information about the city on their mobile devices.
