More than 45 percent of the respondents to an opinion poll want political restrictions to be completely scrapped against about 18 percent who want them to stay.

Suan Dusit Poll of Suan Dusit University gauged the opinions of 1,033 people of different occupations across the country during August 29- September 1 for their views on easing or scrapping of  restrictions on political activities.

Results of the opinion poll show that 46.33 percent want the restrictions to be completely scrapped in order to create a political atmosphere that is conductive to an election. Another 35.26 percent agree that the restrictions to be eased for activities which are deemed necessary in order to prevent possible chaos if the restrictions are completely “unlocked”.

The timid have spoken.

Chaos only comes from men in masks who protect those stirring up problems, not solving them.

So it took a Thai university to undertake a poll of people to determine that the majority of people want restrictions scrapped.   My My ,  guess that was an outstanding educational challenge.

Next poll by them could be "  Do you think Thailand will have more rain during the rainy season"  ?

Well at least in future elections the military backed yellow shirts can't use the previous strategy of "Why you voting?  Don't you love the  ______."

If this sentiment was not already obvious there would not be an election planned to occur. The junta had no plans to step aside until they saw the potential for serious resistance. Interesting they hung a number on the percentage, one has to wonder if it is also representative of the attitude regarding the junta itself.
