webfact
PM: Feb 24th the earliest possible date for general election BANGKOK, 3 September 2018 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has reiterated that the general election won't be held before February 24th, 2019. Gen Prayut, who is also head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), said the earliest possible date for a general election is February 24th next year and that the government has no intention of procrastinating or postponing the national polls beyond the roadmap. He said the Election Commission (EC) has suggested that all elections – local and national – be held on a Sunday, because Sundays are likely to see a greater number of ballot casters than on any other day of the week. Gen Prayut added that once the Election of MPs Bill has been royally endorsed, the NCPO will have 90 days to unlock restrictions on political activities. In regard to his future, the premier said he is monitoring the movements of all parties and hasn’t decided whether he will stay on as a politician. -- nnt 2018-09-03

Er... Ahem... Oh... ah... Wouldn't that be "procrastinating or postponing" yet another time? Weapons-grade mendacity. Or just switching it off - like the driver in yesterday's news article, going from Surat Thani to Phuket at 130 Km/hr. I see he's now being charged with 'failing to turn on the GPS'.

Popular Post Hayduke
It appears that Reformed General/Uncle Number One intends to closely link his election with another important event due next year. A shameless design for self-aggrandizement and another callous attempt to create a ‘perception’ of Junta legitimacy in the public eye. There will be an 'election' event; but there is absolutely no way it will be fair. The two primary issues remaining for Blessed Leader are to ensure that all of the ‘election’ props can be arranged as planned, and that the actual event is rigged in time for the big day. If ever a handier excuse - for pretty well everything - turned up in the guise of something the UN invented, 30yrs ago, no-one would believe it. Come to think of it, no-one believes Prayut's version, especially since he's kept it firmly in his pocket . . . mythical, you might say.

chama
Sounds like Uncle and cronies have come to the realization that the public wants their country back and the only way to hijack the country will be to hijack and election. And they have laid as many pieces in place as possible to execute the hijack.
