BANGKOK — A senior Pheu Thai Party executive denied Monday that a son in law of fugitive former-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is tipped to lead the party.

It came after newspapers such as Thairath reported that Thaksin was considering Nattapong Kunakornwong as a candidate to head the party in elections slated for next year.

Be shame in some respects as the party really needs,  and the country really deserves ,a Shinawatra in name to lead this country out of the political and economical wilderness that the megalomaniac junta generals and their Elite supporters have driven it into.

Esso I hope you jest.

What this country needs is political parties that are run by the people, not a rich egomaniac.  I mean that for all parties.  This country deserves people in power that are interested in the country not in their name.

PT may and does have good ideas but as long as it is a puppet for the Shins or they are involved they will never be taken seriously

Thaksin wants Thailand to have a Shin dynasty.  This is not china. or India.

Give the people of this country a chance to have a poiitical system free from his influence so thaty can do what needs to be done.  Then maybe the military will not have to step in again.

Who cares?   Anyone of the Shinawatras dogs running the country would be an improvement.

Just need a fair election and if Shin win with Nattapong as head, so be it. Just don't need a power crazy egomaniac who seized power from an elected government to try influence and build his dynasty. This is certainly not feudal China.

It is feudal Thailand with pre 1912 Chinese characteristics.

Will be heading backwards if Prayut and the elites have their way. He has threatened to shut down Thailand and execute journalists. Very pre 1912 feudal Thailand. Guess he does fantasize himself as a powerful warlord.

Yes he looks like a puppet, not easy to see the strings

though, they lead all the way to Dubai.

"Thaksin was considering Nattapong Kunakornwong as a candidate to head the party in elections slated for next year."

If a party lets a convicted criminal decide who will lead the party, it will be dissolved soon.

Great idea.

The military will always step in to protect their masters.  I agree with you what this country needs is a political party that are interested in the country.  This country never has had any such party and until the the powers that be ensure that the military is controlled properly by a democratically elected government it never will have.  But as I said in an earlier post on another thread , that would require Turkeys voting for Xmas and unfortunately greed and corruption is fed by short termism, so unless their is a real change nothing much will happen irrespective of which party is in power, what names are leading those parties, or for that matter whatever crackpot Generals are in charge of the so called military. So the Turkeys will carry on as usual

Please Pheua Thai MPs, when will you stop being the servants of Thaksin and run the party yourselves?

You have experienced and knowledgeable politicians yet you insist on devoting all power to the man on the run.

How can you claim to be democratic when you can't even select a leader from among your own ranks?

Pass the sick bag Alice, that car called democracy has just driven straight past the Pheua Thai house again without stopping.

Try to argue the point rather than writing nonsense.

Allow me to correct “who seized power from an elected power crazy egomaniac”.  Can’t tell the difference BB as usual?

You can’t create a feudal dynasty when you have election every 4 years. Surely you understand feudalism is opposite of democracy. Consider yourself educated.

Your dear leader did not want democracy.. who knows what he would have tried to change it in if he had not been kicked out. He seemed to want to stick to his place even without elections. You read his quotes.. "Democracy is not my goal".

Not true, it's you who is avoiding the obvious truth stated by BB.

She won a fair election.  She beat that tool of the military Abhisit.  Would you feel better if a different sis won the election ?   As bad as he was, he is the best Thailand can hope for in these times.  A crook, a beauty queen or one of their mongrels is better than a delusional military type who sees himself as savior.
