Reuters states that the “Volunteer Spirit” scheme, “officially began in 2017,  has created a new army of civilians who have pledged their allegiance.  Unwise to say to whom.

It is reported that 4 million have “volunteered.”  Public works to make clear their loyalty to the country and to show their availability any time  they are called.

Women would still be able to become cops through other channels!!

Well there are only 2 channels left for women 1/ Large brown envelope, 2/ lie back and think of Thailand.

I hope #1 would suffice, as there would still be a demand of a brown envelope after #2

I'd like to agree with you, manarak, but without you naming or quoting a reference to this law, I cannot. Can you finish what you started?

sure, a short google search would have provided you with the following:

Constitution of Thailand, Sec. 30, para. 3
"Unjust discrimination against a person on the grounds of the difference in origin, race, language, sex, age, disability, physical or health condition, personal status, economic or   social standing, religious belief, education or constitutional political view, shall not be permitted."

LABOUR PROTECTION ACT (1998, 2008), Sec 15
"Equal treatment for male and female workers unless such treatment is not possible due to the characteristics or the nature of the work"

The Ministry of Labour Regulation on Thai Labour Standards, Social Responsibility of Thai Businesses B.E. 2550 (2007) covers payment of wages, provision of benefits, opportunity for training and development, job grading or promotion, employment termination or age of retirement.

There is also a "gender equality act" establishing an authority for enforcement of the Law, in addition to courts:

are women allowed to drive cars in your male dominated world, it's like something you might hear from the middle east - you can swing it whatever way you like but it is discrimination

The stupidity of the uneducated  raises hits head again - it really is time this country gets rid of the buffoons and starts to put in place educated people

Lets do a roll call - how many people currently (or even in the past) running this country  have a university education...……………….……?

IQ

All of them have a university education, that's the "kicker"! They have all received their higher education overseas but being true to their culture they promptly forgot everything the moment they arrived back in the LOS!

The only way that this wonderful country will survive will be to go down the same road, disgusting as it may be, as Cambodia in the 70's! IMMHO ?
