September 8, 20187 yr The paperwork here in BKK was returned to my school in processing the work permit because of the teacher license waiver rule (apparently I have had too many already...it was actually 2). So everything else is fine. Meanwhile the school said immigration need a receipt showing enrollment to an education degree and they will finish processing the work permit. The fee is 5000 baht to enroll and the school said that if I don't show the receipt by the 12th next week they will cease processing of the permit. My school then says they will terminate my employment at the school. I don't believe that terminates my NON-B which is until Nov 1st? Second, I have a full contract ready to be signed starting Nov 1st from Lertah (a really good Canadian school) her in BKK. The Non -b does not mention any school only the area Min Buri. Could that Non-b be used at the new school? If I decide to enroll I will get the work -permit for my current school. Can I then transfer the work permit over to the new school? Not sure if I should enroll and just get the work permit and then simply transfer to the new school. Maybe I will need to go back on a tourist, then use the new contract to get a new-no-b and process all over again.
September 8, 20187 yr If you’re permission to stay is 90 days from a non ‘B’ visa entry it will be unaffected by any change of job/employer, and the visa/permit to stay can be ‘transferred’ to another job/employer. Work permits have been specific to a job/employer, however, things are changing. Recent law/rule changes mean that a work permit is transferable. It’s a positive change, but I don’t yet have any real knowledge or experience of how/when this change applies/was applied, and I doubt many other members do either. If you want to change jobs/employer I suggest you contact the labour office that issued the work permit to confirm the portability of the work permit.
