In 1991, I turned right off the highway between Cairns and Townsville onto a road that went up a valley, just to a hydro-electric station.

Then I saw a big sign: "This road does NOT lead to either Townsville or Cairns".

It seemed so funny that I took a photo. Only the Ozzies would have the sense to see fit to say where a road doesn't go!

One I saw ages ago but is always on my mind:

"This road is no road, who does it anyway pays a fine and goes into the community cash register".

There's a couple of road signs around Kabinburi I think, that say "City Limit - Produce Speed" rather than "Reduce speed".

Wonder if you'd get away with it if the boys in brown stopped you?
