Snake catchers find 5 meter long python that had eaten three cats

Animal rescue experts were called to a grassy area near the Sri Racha railway station last night after a large snake was found coiled up.

The five meter long python had a large bump. It had consumed three local cats and was having a rest while digesting its meal, reported Thai Rath.

Sawang Pratheep staff took just ten minutes to get the five meter long python into a fertilizer sack to begin its journey back to nature.

The python had been found by a grass cutter who then rushed to tell his mate to call the snake catchers.

Hey, bring him over at our soi, plenty to eat all sorts of feral things to eat here, a free buffet...

Can I borrow it for my neighbours house.. Might stop his cat using my front garden as it's toilet. So far the cat's been too quick for the dogs.

How would they now it had eaten 3 cats without cutting it open ?

Got a load of noisy dogs around here that need eating by something.

That must be Thai 5 metres and not Western metres.

It probably vomited the cats out. They commonly do that when feel threatened.

One thing I don't understand is why cats don't run away and end up serially eaten? There have been numerous stories already.

They didn't cut it open for picture sensitivity. Cats must be pretty slow or very stupid. My cats would have hauled ass just seeing the grass move.

Don't suppose it eats mother-in-laws?

Did the picture appear to show the snake had vomited it out ?

Probably 2 metres tops.

My guess is it was too late for animal rescue to save the cats.

Is it a burmese python? Apparently those things never stop growing and in Florida they eat deer & alligators

Would be kinda sensitive stuff. Could have happened in the fertilizer bag after the snake was put there.

Anyway, just a speculation, no specific info being reported. How else could they identify and count the victims, provided the snake wasn't harmed (reportedly taken to be released in natural environment)?

Big pythons can swallow humans  , we have several examples of that so yes it happens.   Just order a big one to do the job.

the three bumps in its belly, maybe cats, maybe puppies..........or s a defense mechanism trying to get away, it regurgitated what it ate.........

It's a reticulated python. They are more slender and tend to go after smaller prey than Burmese, mostly eating rats in the city. On occasion they do eat cats though.

And there's no way that's 5 meters, obvious from the scale of the people next to it. It's somewhere around 2.5 to 3 meters.
