Retirement visa extension phone call received from immigration
Interesting. Suspect that one could be in for a home visit from one's immigration office in connection with a retirement extension if they require directions to one's home (in the form of a hand-drawn map or GPS co-ordinates) where they haven't done so before. So far my local office (Rayong) hasn't required such directions, and I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed that this will still be the case when I apply for my next retirement extension there in a few weeks' time. Did Nakhon Ratchasima require directions to your home (in the form of a hand-drawn map or GPS co-ordinates) when you applied for your initial retirement extension there? -

The assault took place on June 11, around 2pm, as the nurse was assisting the patient in the surgical trauma ward. The patient, who had been transferred from Bang Bua Thong Hospital after a motorcycle accident, became violent while waiting for treatment. As the nurse spoke to the patient’s relative over the phone, he launched an unexpected attack, striking her in the face. This unprovoked assault led to serious facial injuries and bleeding, requiring immediate intervention by other staff and the patient's family to restrain him. Authorities were swiftly called to handle the situation. According to witnesses, the patient was recently transferred from the Intensive Care Unit and was initially calm but soon became agitated, verbally abusive, and resistant to care. The hospital has highlighted its zero-tolerance policy for violence, stating healthcare spaces are for healing, not hostility. Despite having security measures like guards and CCTV, the hospital appeals for cooperation from patient families to manage such incidents. Police have formally charged the patient with assaulting a medical professional, resulting in grave injury. He remains in custody as legal proceedings unfold. In light of this distressing event, Pra Nang Klao Hospital released a statement on Thursday, expressing grave concern and reaffirming their dedication to protecting staff and patients while condemning violence against healthcare workers. The hospital's statement has sparked diverse reactions from former patients. Some have shared personal encounters with subpar support during medical procedures, underscoring the necessity of empathetic care and attentive resolution of patient issues. Meanwhile, others staunchly oppose all violence, stressing that while service enhancements are always possible, aggression has no place in healing institutions.
