BANGKOK, 27 September 2018 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense has voiced support for Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha continuing in the politics and said he will support him without party affiliation. The DPM also mentioned that a discussion on lifting the ban on political activities will take place on December 16.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan has confirmed he is ready to support Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha if he chooses to continue to play a role in Thai politics regardless of the party he chooses, voicing his belief that Gen Prayut will be able to work alongside elected politicians and maintain public support.

While indicating he himself does not intend to join any party, Gen Prawit revealed that a discussion on lifting the ban on political party activity will take place on December 16. He noted that a concrete plan for political parties to participate ahead of the general election is still being drafted by the government, the National Council for Peace and Order and the National Legislative Assembly.

On the use of Article 44 of the constitution to appoint Sonthaya Khunpleum, the new Mayor of Pattaya city, Gen Prawit explained that Sonthaya was chosen to watch over development of the Eastern Economic Corridor and that there was no political reason for his appointment. He denied speculation a Cabinet reshuffle is set to take place soon.

Well, that will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody!

He's on to a winner.

So not the new faces and ideas of the younger generation of politicians, which may refresh the Thai political scene then?

That's a shame. Missed a chance there old chap.

How else could this cretin earn a wage? Maybe he's not as daft as he looks.

New mayor in Pattya. Well I believe them that is is not politically motivated. And why regarding entering politics do they use the word if? Should it be, if he doesn’t enter politics he will just remain in control or take it back if not to their satisfaction?

I support him if he joins the Democrats, I support him if he joins the Communists, I support him if he joins the Fascists, I support him if he joins the Peua Thai. I support him for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health until my watch stops...

I’m not saying that I hate people but in some cases I would unplug their life support to charge my phone.

Just what Prayuth needs.

Well Prayut, now that Ole Fatty is ready to support you, say bye bye to your chances.:cheesy:

Wonder if Prayut feels this is a good thing? And The Toad is not planning on joining a party....who cares? Is he also planning on staying in politics?
