Thai Consulate in Los Angeles

Featured Replies

The consulate in LA processed my non-im-o visa same day.

My flight got in at about 08:00, picked up the rental, stopped at the LAX post office for a money order and on to the consulate.

Got there about 10:00, took about five minutes to drop off the paper work and they told me to come back between 15:00-16:00 to pick it up.

Great area to walk around, and the weather was nice.

Good report.  Too bad we cannot do this in Hawaii any more, though - 1/2 the flight-time and even better place to spend some time.

Yeah, I wouldn’t think it worth the trouble unless one were there anyway. I thought I would have to pick it up at a later date or have it mailed. Had I known it was same day I would have waited until my return trip.

Quick question.  Did LA require notarization of your non-im-o visa supporting documents, like they do for O-A visas ?

I had certified translation/copies of the wife’s passport and our marriage license from the Thai department of state Chiang Wattana.

The bank statement was not notarized.

Not sure what was actually required

No they don't. Only the OA visa has that requirement.

The OA seems to have a lot of PITA requirements.

No trucks but plenty of little food joints around and a Pavilion’s market.

I walked around the Home Depot on Sunset for a couple hours...little different clientele than a typical Home Depot...

sounds like west LA...my favorite area for food was W Pico Blvd west of the 405 fwy where they had most everything, all mom&pop places...considerably south of Sunset

just bought a Bosch 3/8" variable speed drill here locally, wonder what they cost at the Home Depot in LA...

It’s not on the west side, it’s in Hollywood walking distance to Paramount Studios.
