Rainbow presenter Geoffrey Hayes dies at 76

Geoffrey Hayes, who hosted long-running children's TV show, Rainbow, has died aged 76.

 

The actor and presenter died in hospital surrounded by his family, according to his manager.

 

In a statement, Phil Dale said: "It is with great sadness that the family announce that Geoffrey passed away in hospital with his wife, Sarah, and son, Tom, by his side."

I'm just a little too old to remember this as a child.

 

I do remember watching it with my kids, good wholesome entertainment (with a smattering of education) although Bungle was definitely more than slightly camp.

 

Last time I saw him on telly was Celebrity Pointless with the delightful Sally James (Tiswas) in 2015.
