Another pic of a brown kukri, with the rounder spots and somewhat subdued banding between the bigger spots.  Apparently the picture here was taken in the Pattaya area.

The ligning on the head is typical for banded kukri, so are the round spots.

Pit vipers seem to have a pronounced neck and head shape.  They say banded kukris are hard to grab hold of because the head/neck is not so pronounced.  I would pay particular attention to the marking on the head.  From the tail end, the darker area looks like an outline of a little man. A head with arms and legs.

In addition, look at the spots, which can be rounded or somewhat band-like, and the three bands in between spots. ID can be tough, especially with variations of location and age of the snake.  But this one looks like a shoo-in for a non-venomous brown kukri.  I would not be concerned.  My wife would freak, but she does that even seeing a picture of a snake.  Any snake.  But she does like spiders, bless her.
