A video from Wednesday night showed a chase between two men on motorcycles and a fleeing minivan.

The result at the entrance to the expressway was the minivan dragging the bike some 50 meters along the road.

Both parties have wai-ed and shaken hands at the police station regarding damages, reported Sanook.

The incident began off camera in the Din Daeng area when a road rage incident developed between a minivan who changed lanes abruptly and a motorcyclist with his girlfriend on the back who were nearly knocked off in a collision.

In the incident the van driver Amnat, 35, kicked the couple off their bike and a fist fight developed between him and 22 year old Sukon, an ambulance driver on his way home.

A member of the public on another bike arrived to help calm the situation.

But as they were talking about restitution and discussing insurance the van driver fled the scene.

A chase ensued that led to the entrance to the expressway where the motorcyclist parked his bike in front of the van while he paid the fee for the expressway. The other motorcyclist filming called for the booth operator to not let the van pass.

But he did and dragged the bike some way along the expressway before fleeing into the night.

Sukon went to Makkasan police after the incident at 12.30am.

Later Amnat arrived. He admitted that he was originally in the wrong but fled in fear of his life. He said that no one was on the bike when he went into it at the toll booth.

Sukon said he and his girlfriend were lucky not to have been killed - before the minivan driver arrived he said it could have been a case of attempted murder or maybe the driver had illegal substances in his van.

He said he and his girlfriend jumped off the bike just in time at the booth.

Amnat and Sukon agreed compensation when they met and wai-ed and shook hands on the deal. Sukon said he would not take the matter further.

Amnat faces assault charges from Din Daeng police and fleeing the scene of an accident in the Makkasan jurisdiction.
