hi .. im asking for a younger friend, but I'm  not 100% in this myself.

She started at the school on a tourist visa which was then converted to a non B. However due to the lady who normally does work permit paperwork basically being of sick of it. It was given to a junior teacher and the librarian (What can I say about that).  I was in this school last year and I can confirm paperwork is not processed fast at the best of times.

The problem is, she had a tourist 60 days and a non b 90 days, this will expire on Monday 15th,  so what are her options.

I'd prefer definite options rather than speculation as time is short.

Shes from the phillipines so shes not a native speaker, is savannaket an option for  a new tourist visa, or cambodia for a 30 day entry. I know savannaket is more relaxed than vientianne, ive never tried the cambodia option myself.

What can she do to remain in thailand until they can process the paperwork or if they are using this as an excuse to get rid of her, get another job

thanks for you help

The best option would be for her to push them hard to get the work permit done.

The next best option would be to go out for another non-b visa. But she would need a police clearance certificate to get it.

After that a tourist visa form Vientiane would be a better option than Savannakhet since they want financial proof and tickets out now.

Or a 30 day visa exempt entry at any border crossing other than Poi Pet to Cambodia.

She has five more days to get all the necessary documents for a business visa. Then she can go with those documents to a neighboring country and apply for that visa. Problem solved.

If they say they can't do it in time, they generally mean it, apparently the paperwork from bkk is supposed to arrive today but then it needs to be in the labour dept for 7 days so shes been told

The new non b isn't an option so i guess under these circumstances she is going to vientianne or cambodia i'm surprised savannaket has gone funny 3 months ago everyone was saying no hassle there, no queues. maybe they are trying to get everyone to go to the party town instead.

An exempt entry is just entering the country for free and you can do this over the weekend as well I take it??

thanks

I'm not sure about the business visa, I think the simplest route is an exempt entry in my opinion which is also the most economical

It can be done 365 days a year.

There is no business visa. It would be a single entry non-b visa based upon working as teacher.

If she plans on trying again for the work permit she will need non-b visa for that. I don't think immigration will do another 90 day non immigrant visa.

Yeah so in the absence of any non-b paperwork appearing in the next 3 days apparently the school are saying they can't do a second one anyway apparently

So she will need to go out, get an exempt entry then get another non b and then get the work permit again .. which of course in Thailand is at least partly illegal but all the schools fault

Just out of interest there is no recourse the prospective teacher because the school hasn't done the paperwork is there?

considering my friend will need to spend another 6000baht getting another non b, a  lot of money for a filipino teacher
