Hi everybody,

In a few months time I will fly back home for a short time, yes indeed to get my new multiple O,and see some family I haven't seen for years!!!

Allright I stay in Chiangmai, and a return ticket by China airlines (return to A'dam)will cost me 33K500 ,if a purchase it in CM.I think this is quite expensive isn't it??

I could bargain a little, a no more cheap then 32K750.I am planning to fly mid may,so still got some time to sort out. Also next month I will go to Bangkok anyway,so for sure over there must be a cheaper way to purchase a returnticket, can someone who knows more then me in this area, what the smartest way is to purchase my ticket?Or where or which area I can find the best deal??

I appreciate a lot if someone can share this information with me,thanks.

Hi there. I had a bit of spare time this afternoon, tijnebijn - so I did some checking for you (free of charge :o).

The best deal I could find on BKK-AMS-BKK was using ebookers.com and their best fare for mid-May 2007 was $US878 (29,590 Thai baht).

Peter

Edit: That's return trip, including all taxes and charges.

If you're in BKK it might be worth while trawling

all the little "travel agents" on KSR.

I did that once , said "Thanks , I'll think about"

each time and then went back and took the best

offer.

Allright will check it out,I prefer to pay incash instead of the internet payments.I reckon on the Khaosan i can find a much better deal then back here in CM.Just a few thousand down and am happy again :o

Thanks for the information

Farangsay: How safe are the KSR travel agents - by safe I mean reliable? If I book and pay for a ticket with them - will the airline honour the ticket etc?

Can it be like that?

I am just not used to be paying with creditcards on the internet, though,is that safer then?

Although I never have heard about unreliable businesses relating to bying tickets in Thailand untill now,if it is I would like to know from somebody who has got ripped of...

surprises me if it is,but maybe I am just a bit unknowledgeable about these things.

Well I had no problems.

Obviously you pick only reputable carriers and check

the itinerary offered (a 32 hour stopover in Colombo

did not appeal).

They don't issue the ticket themselves , they have to book

it and go and fetch it so at best you can book in the morning

and pick it up later that day. I put down a couple of thou "good

faith" deposit and paid the balance when they had the ticket.

From what is listed here and at SaveFlights a ThaiVisa sponsor you don't have such a bad deal for a direct flight. I doubt you'd save the fare to BKK if you were to go down especially to buy a ticket.

I've never had problems booking on line with credit card

There used to be some fly by night agents around Khao San Road and other parts of Bangkok who collected the money but weren't there when you returned for your ticket but I haven't heard any reports for many years but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

Hear what you say Mahout but I was talking about places that

heve a storefront containing people , furniture and computers.

And not giving up any significant cash before seeing the ticket.

Agree also it wouldn't be worthwile making a trip to BKK but

the OP seemed to be saying he would be coming down anyway.

Thanks a lot guys,

I think I have got a lot of information now I did not have before.

By the way,I was going to Bangkok anyway,so that's why this suggestion,CM agencies charge a lot comparable with Bangkok. And now I also understand that online booking is oke,I will check it all out.

Everybody thank you so much ,if their was no thaivisa.......I would pay a lot more.
