Besides cheap hospital visits, what else did Thaksin do for them that was beneficial for them long term ?

As for Taksin - he hasn't been around for a long long time.

Just study and inform yourself.

50 FIFTY % GDP growth in few years, stunning reduction in poverty, ALL DEBT with IMF PAID IN FULL AND IN ADVANCE, thousands of foreign firms investing in Thailand and offering qualified jobs, investments in infrastructure (new airport, just forgot it ?? ), roads, hospitals, schools,...

Huge rise in the international reserves, lowest corruption index in Thai history (yes, just look at Transparency International historical ranking) and so on....

No no no vote buying, just ask Bruce or Eric they are the eyes and the ears of the red fella's and can tell you categorically that no red votes were ever bought.

But at the end of it all, it makes bugger all difference as it is ongoing scourge of Thai politics, previously and into the future.

another junta brainwashed guy ....

The vast majority wasn't because of Thaksin, he just happened to be in the driver's seat at the time and of course claimed it was all his doing and perpetuated by his disciples.

The improving economy was partially due to world events that Thaksin and Thailand did not significantly influence.  However decisions on where to spend the money made available by the growing economy were due to Thaksin.

Unlike earlier leaders, Thaksin chose to spend a significant amount of available money in the poor regions where the majority of Thais live instead of keeping almost all of it in Bangkok.  This made him very popular with the majority of Thais, but very unpopular in Bangkok.

Regardless, in the end, we should find that they all hatched from the same egg and belong to the same Mother.

We slumber still.

Perhaps this is what they're comfortable with.

As such decades long conditions aren't really everyday repressive and never have been.

Why do you [and most others] insist that they be reflective or resembling of a Farang way?

Nothing beneficial could come from this.

I never insist they be reflective or resembling of a Farang way.  If people think that having a dozen coups very frequently is effective and good for a country, well, that is their right to think so
