Is Nhong Kai a good place? Meaning is it relaxed with moderate night life (a bar or two ). If I fly, is Udon Thani the best way to take a van over? Is UT a good place? I liked places like Kanchanaburi River Kwai, Ubon Ratchathani, Lopburi, Chiang Rai city center.........any places with a nice vibe like these but not too sleepy for 4-5 days before crossing into Vientianne.
