BANGKOK, 22 October 2018 (NNT) – The Thai Citizen Power Party has held a major meeting, selecting eight additional party board members and 11 candidate selection committee members.

The meeting was chaired by party leader Samphan Lersnuwat and announced that party members will soon be able to choose the party’s candidates to run in the upcoming general election. The party is to use an election process for the vote.

The meeting also unveiled a team of female candidates for Bangkok as the party has adopted the slogan “Female for Bangkok” and plans to field female candidates in 30 districts of the capital.

Party heads have stated that candidates will be fielded in all 350 voting districts of the nation with 250 already chosen and ready to be vetted.

Meanwhile, tentative leader of the Phalang Pracharat Party, Uttama Saowanayon , tentative party Secretary-General, Sonthirat Sonthijrawong and tentative deputy party leader Suwit Mesinsee took part in the “SME Network Building to Extend the Agriculture Business” activity at Lemon Me Farm in Nakhon Pathom province.

Mr. Uttama explained his group was invited to speak at the event on how to push the agriculture industry forward. At the same time, Mr. Sonthirat indicated his party was ready to work alongside all other parties and that any clarity on whether Gen Prayut Chan-ocha will be fielded by Phalang Pracharat for the post of Prime Minister would have to be provided by Gen Prayut himself. However, he confirmed that current Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitakhas resolved not to continue in politics.

In Nakhon Si Thammarat, former Democrat party MP Chin Boonyakriat hosted party leader candidate Abhisit Vejjajiva and other figures, including Korn Jatikavanich and Nipit Intarasombut . The group traveled to Nakhon Si Thammarat to meet with its over 2,000 party members.

In an address to the gathered members, Abhisit asked for the opportunity to continue party policies and introduce new approaches, promising that the party would take a stance of true democracy during the House of Representatives election scheduled for February.

That would be a refreshing change.  Wonder what prompted that change of heart
