Not one mention in post bag. Everybody write in pointing out the loss to Thai economy when all expats without the cash in bank will leave LOS. Deserted wives,kids,empty condone etc etc etc. I'm the only one who has offered a concrete suggestion to change embassies minds. All other comments are just wasted words. Regards, Cleverman. P.S. It's the Thai govt that will change embassies minds.

I think you’re seriously overestimating the spending power of foreign retirees in Thailand and any impact it may have, if any, on the Thai economy. 

 

A letter is a good idea, for the simple means of appeal rather than the flawed idea and almost underhand collective threat of any loss to the Thai economy.

 

Anyone with spending power can afford the viable alternatives (800,000 baht in a Thai account, or Elite membership).
