A Pathum Thani woman delivered her third child in her pickup as she was on the way to Thammasat University's hospital after her truck got caught in traffic congestion on Thursday morning.

The Klong Luang police station was alerted at 8am that a mother delivered her child in her pickup that was trapped in traffic on the Bang Khan-Nong Sua road in Tambon Klong Song of Pathum Thani's Klong Luang district.

Police coordinated with the Muang Tha Klong Municipality to send an ambulance to take the mother and baby to hospital.

The mother was identified as Hathaichanok Puengsook, 29. She and her baby son are in good health.

Her brother, Keng Yuklam, 23, said he tried to drive her to the hospital when she felt labour pains but they could not make it in time because of the traffic snarl.
