drbrit
Hi All, I have a non-imm type B visa/re-entry valid until 2019 (BOI sponsored, via one stop shop). However, I will be leaving this employer on 30 Nov, and starting with a new employer the following week. Is it still the case that you have to leave the country immediately when your employment terminates? Is there any grace period if so (like within 7 days)? Or, can you remain in the country and transition from one employer to another at immigration or one-stop?
allane
I once did it, and I was not even BOI sponsored. It does require advance preparation and co-operation from all involved, and co-ordination by yourself. I am presuming that both your old and new employer are in the same province. It can be difficult if they are not. I got everything done in about half a day.
Wilson Smith
Can be done but must be canceled and applied for new one on the same day. If you do the 7 day extension the B visa is voided and then you will have to leave and enter again for sure.
drbrit
Thanks Allane and WIlson. Interested to hear. I think if I can connect my current and new employer in advance we can work it out - cheers
