Hello there,

is it possible to apply for a work permit without having to register my own company (or being employed at some company) if I am married to a Thai citizen and also staying in Thailand already on a Non-O visa based on that marriage.

Would make sense in my opinion as I need to take care of my wife and the family and not everyone has the chance to have his own company...

Does anyone have information or maybe own experiences on that one? Any information would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks!

You have to be working for a registered company or partnership with a registered capital of at least 1 million baht. If your wife was to register a sole proprietorship business you could work for it as well.

I get your point, but that isn't how immigration view things.

You’re given permission to stay to visit your wife and should have the means to support yourself during that stay. Any support you give to your wife/family is irrelevant. They would argue that you can support them from your own country.

You can work, but only under strict conditions.
